Wow, almost three weeks later and I am checking in. I am doing better, am I not? Well if you beg to differ it doesn't matter... because I don't have a comments box anyway! HA! So anyway, who said 'ignorance is bliss'? Smart person! Well anyway, I am about 60% through my management program. And finally back in Chicago! So now I have to work really hard at impressing everyone I meet so that they all want me when the program is over. Of course, for the networking nitwit that I am this may be harder to do than most would anticipate. But that is another topic unto itself. So I just started my R&IP rotation, Remittance and Item Processing. So far it is going well, of course it is just day 1. I was so excited to see the guy who interviewed me because a little birdie told me that he really liked me and wants to give me a job! So I'm crossing my fingers and wishing on satrs and clocks... Two more months and we will see where my wishing gets me. Not that this is what my exact wish is, but I can't tell otherwise it won't come true... right? Well anyway...
So lets see... what has happened since I last wrote. I went to Phoenix for my National Retail Lock Box rotation. IT was great, there wasn't a cloud in the sky, 80 degrees with gentle breezes, and palm trees all around. They had these flowering bush/trees that lined everything. They reminded me of my mother's home back in India. Those beautiful fusia leaf like flowers that spring out at every branch, nook, and crannie.... yeah, yeah...my grammer sucks. As does my description. But you know, I just can't describe it. I always feel like I'm home when I see them, maybe because the time I spent around them had been so special. But no need for sentimentalism now. Its impossible to describe the way I feel or how happy my heart is to see them. I saw them in Tunisia, in AZ, and in California. Maybe that's where I am meant to be! Who knows. But anyway, if you didn't catch the Cali bit, I went to California for the weekend in between the rotation. My first trip to LA was great. I didn't see anyone famous, of course if I had I probably wouldn't have even known it. Hee hee! Oh well. I stayed at the Hyatt on Sunset, which was great but not the best place I have stayed recently. I spent friday night walking on Broadway, seeing the Chinese theater, wax museum, etc. And then Sat I went to Santa Monica pier and walked along the beach. I rented a bike and went for a long, beautiful ride. I loved it. Then I went back and washed the salt and sand away. I went to the Comedy Store and saw some funny funny and some not so funny stand up comics. The guy who hosts fear factor was there. He was hilarious. Raunchy and definitely not Politically correct, but funny none the less. Hmm... then I spent all of Sunday sitting in LAX. Let me tell you, that airport is not the 'hottest' part of LA. I don't think I will ever fly united again. But after a few vague statements and an eventual cancellation I finally got on a plane, 6 hours after my initial departure time... So now I know the airport. And I hope to never spend as much time there again. It was a waste of a perfectly beautiful California day!
But anyway, I need to wrap up and do some work. I swear my job is non-stop, though I often don't realize it. I guess that is a good sign. But in the same spirit, my mind is always thinking about things that have nothing to do with my life... like making up or singing my dorky original songs.. hee hee... Now, I think I am a misguided soul. But I comfort myself by thinking that at least 1/2 of the 6 billion people in this world must be confused. And keep compromising dreams for the 'dollar'. Life forces you to make decisions, whether you want to or not. I guess the strong follow their dreams, regardless if its feasability is limited. Oh well... enough self reflection!
